Salone del Mobile

At the 61st Edition of Salone del Mobile, Atelier Vierkant presents the Amphora Collection. With roots in the Persian and Mesapotamian era, with echoes from ancient Greek and Roman vessels, we present new interpretations of the Amphoreus, a type of container with a pointed bottom and characteristic shape and size which fit tightly - and therefore very safely against each other in storage rooms and packages. Amphorae were used in vast numbers for the transport and storage of various products, both liquid and dry, but mostly for wine. Head designers Annette Lantsoght and Stephanie Busard both worked on the development of the shapes. They came up with some twists on the TAJ shapes with both a high column vessel as well as a low bowl. Furthermore, the KTL, KRK and GZL are expressions of Amphorae with ancient contour lines. Besides the new collection, Atelier Vierkant puts at the centre stage the latest developments on the Clay Table, new versions of the Adamas and Anthos vessels and art work in the shape of wall tiles.
